Tea Profile: Bella Coola

Posted March 29, 2012

Bella Coola tea gets its name from the Bella Coola valley located within the central coast of British Columbia. This caffeine free fruit and herbal tea has an orange character with the sweetness of pineapple. Enjoy this drink cold, it also makes great popsicles, tastes great and contains very little sugar! Iced tea Brewing instructions (1 liter of iced tea) Place 12 teaspoons of bella coola into a teapot or heat-resistant pitcher. Boil filtered or freshly drawn cold water and pour 1 ¼ cups/315ml over the herb and fruit blend. Steep for 5-10minutes. Quarter fill a serving pitcher with cold water; pour the tea into the serving pitcher straining the tea. Add ice and top up pitcher with cold water. Garnish and sweeten to taste. Rule of thumb when preparing freshly brewed iced herb & fruit tea is to increase strength of hot brew since it will be poured over ice and diluted with cold water.
